Here is the most productive cool cat in our house at the moment. Gillen made that cool bright hat on his knitting loom over the past few days. I love it. I can see his face again when he wears it. He plans on making one in black now too.
He also made the chocolate cake he is holding.
Here is our wild cat Fracas, inhabiting the Backgammon board while Jesse and I took too long a break from our game today.
She has an aversion to cameras. Unfortunately she also has an aversion to her expensive organic cat food - well, she prefers the dog's food; and she has an aversion to litter boxes, so will continue to be our outdoor cat for now.
I did plan on posting about all that I can do, as a follow up to yesterday's post, but these two easily upstaged me.

Wow! Such a cool hat! I'm going to have to show it to my boys and get out (and dust off)our looms! What yarn did he use? great colors!
i still am tasting/seeing gillen's amazing whipped cream (placed atop your amazing belgian waffles). as for kitty, i must introduce that cousin of my calico girl for lessons on litter box use and kitty food dining. of course the calico girl here has no choice in either matter. i guess given options, we are wilder...
Helen, the multi-colored yarn came with a Hearthsong kids' knitting kit that I got for Gillen a few years ago. He has me wanting to loom knit as well.
I just love boys that knit and bake! And the Alison Krauss song that started playing when I clicked on your site - one of my faves!
Yes, Madeline...the music you put on truly rocks!!! You are so good at finding amazing music that is so diverse. I too love the yarn Gillen used for his hat. I've seen that kit at Hearthsong and have contemplated getting it...hmmm! Since I won the round loom passion basket at the conference, I've become an avid hat maker! Sophie has claimed one and wears it all the time. We'll have to get a picture of her and Gillen in their cool hats! Oh, oh, oh...I want Gillen's gluten free cake recipe as well!
I would please like to eat Gillen's cake immediately if not sooner. That hat, though, I am loving the hat. My youngest has a knitting loop that just isn't cutting it. She's not yet seven and can't cope with the stubby teeth on the thing. Maybe another six months and she can, but she wants to do that so badly!
Alecto, my 7 yo can't deal with the loom either. But then, Blogging Molly's daughter does amazing things with yarn and she is very young. All so different.
The cake is from a gluten free mix by "Pamela's". It is really good.
I love that hat! Though Gillen would be cute under a lampshade.
