Monday Farm Photos

The Muscovy ducklings have hatched! We are so excited. There are six of them. It was hard to get a good look at them due to the very protective parents - Green Tea and Mae Belle. They kept moving them into the protective cover of a Leyland Cypress tree. Aren't they the sweetest, fluffiest creatures ever?
If Jesse hadn't (justifiably) insisted on getting on with our day, I would probably still be there, sneaking under the branches for a peek.

Gillen was very Huck Finn/farmboy this morning. Jesse wasn't. I like this picture that shows their different moods that moment. I confess - part of what I like is that they both saw it and decided that they want a hair trim. That never happens!

All this writing and research about bees had me noticing the pollinators:

Oh sweet babies!
Great pictures, too.

You know, I was about to start picketing for Monday farm photos. ;)

Congratulations Gillen! How exciting!

I'm always kinda sad when Sam decides he wants a hair cut. I love his overgrown, carefree locks.

I love them on Sam too. They don't lie flat on my boys, at all and their faces disappear. They don't want it short, just trimmed.

Congratulations.

So so cute! And great photos!! I was quite dejected for a bit that we had to let go of the farmer's market Saturday. We got to Athens a few hours than we hoped, due to weather and traffic, so Saturday morning we hadn't seen downtown Athens much and decided to stay in town a few hours longer. Some day I'll make it back! Loved it there and so much more that needs exploring in Atlanta. And am so glad no one was harmed in the accident - we hit a bad storm in SC on Saturday.

So cool that I might have sampled your okra - really they were amazing...so much better than the okra I've tasted or just saw at the grocery store yesterday.

Sara, Gillen is in nature camp this week and his counselor was at the REM concert too. She said it was amazing and that The National played as well. I love them!
